County Championships 2016
 

The Berks & South Bucks ASA County Championships (incorporating the Age Group Championships) was held over the period 16th January 2016 to 21st March 2016.

Maidenhead - Saturday, 16th January 2016
Maidenhead - Sunday, 17th January 2016
Aldershot - Saturday, 30th January 2016
Maidenhead - Saturday, 6th, February 2016

All the entries for the 2016 County Championship have been processed and we have been able to accept all the swims.

However doing this has meant that all the sessions are full, and we have had to alter some of the provisional session times.

The new session times are as follows (the altered times are in red bold underlined text).

Withdrawal from races is via your club's team manager - if you can not swim on a day tell your coaches/team manager so they may withdraw you.

We have just received new advice from the ASA that the changing area at the County Championships should be divided into male and female changing areas.  Accordingly we will be designating areas for officials, boys and girls.

Please ensure all participants use the appropriate area.

The General Championship conditions, include the event schedule and qualifying times and Entry procedure.

Differences from 2015 County Championships


There are a number of significant changes from last year's championships, many mandated by the new ASA Competition Pathway. This is a summary; Please ensure that you read the Championship conditions.
  • Age groups: 10/11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16+
  • Relay Age groups: 10/11, 12/13, 16 & under, OPEN
  • Age on day: 31-Dec-2016
  • Para-Swimming multi-classification competition now incldued
  • 10/11 may not enter 800m, 1500m or 400m IM
  • 100IM is a championship event, with finals
  • BAGCAT award have been discontinued
  • Distance and open relays session is at Aldershot
  • Finalists (including reserve finalists) must withdraw if not swimming, or be fined.
  • There has been a revision of qualifying times.
  • The Junior Championship is for 14 and under
  • The Senior Championship is for 15 and over
  • There are a number of changes to how awards are calculated
