No-Frills Acceptances

The list of accepted swimmers for the No-Frills is available for consultation....

Apparently there is a rumour circulating that No-Frills is full, and there is no point in sending entries.  This is NOT true!  The No-Frills is not entered on a first-come-first-served basis, but rather on fastest swimmers. Please do send in your swimmers' entry forms for the No-Frills, to be held on May 10th.  Closing date for entries is April 7th.

No Frills meet details for May 10th posted. To be held at Aldershot: Note that this is the same day as the 1500m session of South East Regional Championships - the 1500m is the first session on the day, followed by the B&SB No-Frills competition.

The December Executive meeting minutes have been posted. In this we note Jean Hulbert (Reading Royals Synchronised SC) is now the BSB ASA president.  At the meeting in February, Peter Tiley (Reading SC) has been voted President Elect for next year.

Rearranged!

The Club Funding Workshop that was postponed has been rearranged for Sunday 30 March at Windsor. Please read the president's note, and reply by March 16. Club secretaries have hardcopy, with phone numbers and addresses.

Intercounties:  We report a Berks & South Bucks WIN in the South East Region Intercounties Masters final!  This was swum at Maidenhead on the 17th of November. Well done Team! Details on the South East Region website.

POSTPONED!

Due to lack of known take up, the Club Funding Workshop, due to take place on 14th October, has been postponed.  Clubs who have expressed an interest have been informed.  If you hadn't expressed an interest, but were just planning to turn up on the day, please be informed of the postponement!

Survey of Training Needs - The County Development Group invite all clubs in the County to advise of their perceived training needs over the next few years so that such provision as the County can make can be systematically planned, and those which the County cannot provide can be requested at the appropriate levels. Please complete the Survey form and return it to the County Hon Secretary as soon as possible and no later than September 30th.

County Swimming Championships 2008: The qualification times and event schedule has been published. See the "championships" link on the left.  Entry forms will be published at a later date.

South East Region's Winter Championships, this year held at the Long Course Pool at Crystal Palace (which has swim-down facilities) are to be held on the weekend of November 3rd/4th.  Full details on the SER website, but see the Qualification Times, Schedule of Events and Entry forms.

South East Region's inaugural annual dinner, held at Bracknell on September 9th, honoured  Malcolm Green, Head coach of Reading's Albatross Diving Club (and the first Diving club in the country to become Swim21 accredited). Malcolm was recognised for his Outstanding Contribution at Club Level.  You can read more on the SER website.

Congratulations to these Association Club's swimmers, who have been selected as part of the Regional Talent Development programme: Adam Barrett (Reading), Rebecca Fisher (Bracknell and Wokingham), Stephen King (Bracknell and Wokingham), Kristina Paige (Reading), Jamie Shields (Bracknell and Wokingham), Fabian Whitbread (Windsor), Callum Willcox (Reading), Kathryn Willis (Bracknell and Wokingham). Together with 36 other swimmers from around the region they will attend a series of clinics and camps throughout the year, hosted by the region's top coaches.

Nominations are sought (by July 31) from clubs for the Annual General Meeting (held September 13th 2007). Full details show that all posts are available for election. In particular posts are sought for Diving and Water Polo and Masters, and Championship Secretary and Assistant Championship Secretary.
